How to set VergeCloud Nameservers on Popular Domain Registrars

Updating NS Records on Popular Registrars

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for updating your domain’s Nameserver (NS) records on some of the most popular domain registrars. Since each registrar’s interface can change over time, consider these instructions as general guidelines.

Important: If your domain has DNSSEC enabled, you must disable DNSSEC before configuring custom DNS servers. Otherwise, the domain might not resolve correctly.

1. GoDaddy

  1. Log in to your GoDaddy account and navigate to the My Products or Domains page.
  2. Disable DNSSEC (if enabled). Look under “DNS Management” or “Advanced Settings.”
  3. Locate the domain whose NS records you want to change and click on DNS or Manage DNS.
  4. Find the Nameservers section. Click Change or Manage.
  5. Select Custom (if prompted) and enter the NS values provided by VergeCloud, for example:
    • indus.ns.vergedns.com
    • ellora.ns.vergedns.com
  6. Click Save to confirm your changes.
  7. Wait for DNS propagation, which may take up to 24 hours.

2. Namecheap

  1. Log in to your Namecheap account and go to the Domain List tab.
  2. Disable DNSSEC (if enabled). This option may be found in the “Advanced DNS” section.
  3. Click the Manage button next to the domain you wish to update.
  4. Under the Nameservers section, select Custom DNS from the dropdown menu.
  5. Enter your VergeCloud NS records:
    • indus.ns.vergedns.com
    • ellora.ns.vergedns.com
  6. Click the green checkmark (or Save) to save your changes.
  7. Allow time for DNS propagation.

3. BigRock

  1. Log in to your BigRock control panel.
  2. Disable DNSSEC (if enabled). In your domain’s DNS or security settings, turn off DNSSEC.
  3. Navigate to Domain Management or List of Orders and select the domain you want to modify.
  4. In the Nameservers section, choose Use custom nameservers.
  5. Replace the existing entries with the VergeCloud NS records:
    • indus.ns.vergedns.com
    • ellora.ns.vergedns.com
  6. Save your changes and wait for DNS propagation.

4. Hostinger

  1. Log in to your Hostinger account and open the Hosting or Domains section.
  2. Disable DNSSEC (if enabled). DNSSEC options are often found under “DNS Zone” or “Domain Settings.”
  3. Select the domain you wish to edit, then click DNS / Nameservers or Manage.
  4. Under the Nameservers tab, switch to Custom Nameservers if necessary.
  5. Enter your VergeCloud NS details:
    • indus.ns.vergedns.com
    • ellora.ns.vergedns.com
  6. Click Save and wait for the changes to take effect.

5. HostGator

  1. Log in to your HostGator account and go to the Domains or Manage Domains section.
  2. Disable DNSSEC (if enabled). HostGator may have this option under “Domain Settings” or “Security.”
  3. Find the domain you want to modify and click Manage or Edit Domain.
  4. Locate the Nameservers or DNS settings area.
  5. Select Custom Nameservers and enter:
    • indus.ns.vergedns.com
    • ellora.ns.vergedns.com
  6. Save your changes. DNS propagation may require several hours.

6. Bluehost

  1. Log in to your Bluehost control panel and click on Domains in the main menu.
  2. Disable DNSSEC (if enabled). Look under “Domain Manager” or “DNS” settings for a DNSSEC toggle.
  3. Select the domain you wish to update.
  4. Look for the Nameservers or DNS settings section, and choose Use Custom Nameservers if prompted.
  5. Enter the VergeCloud Nameservers:
    • indus.ns.vergedns.com
    • ellora.ns.vergedns.com
  6. Click Save or Update to finalize your configuration.

7. MilesWeb

  1. Log in to your MilesWeb account and navigate to the Domains or Domain Manager section.
  2. Disable DNSSEC (if enabled). This may appear under “DNS Management” or “Security.”
  3. Choose the domain you need to update.
  4. Look for the Nameservers or DNS settings area. Select Custom Nameservers if required.
  5. Replace the old Nameservers with the VergeCloud NS records:
    • indus.ns.vergedns.com
    • ellora.ns.vergedns.com
  6. Click Save to apply your changes.
  7. Allow up to 24 hours for full propagation.

8. Name.com

  1. Log in to your Name.com account. Select the domain you want to modify under My Domains.
  2. Click on the Nameservers button under the Nameservers column. 
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see the DNSSEC Management heading. Click on DNSSEC Management Page.
  4. Choose Custom or Custom Nameservers.
  5. Enter the VergeCloud Nameservers:
    • indus.ns.vergedns.com
    • ellora.ns.vergedns.com
  6. Save your changes and wait for DNS propagation.

9. Squarespace

  1. Log in to your Squarespace account and open the website containing the domain you want to configure.
  2. Disable DNSSEC (if enabled). Go to “Advanced DNS” or “Domain Settings” to turn off DNSSEC.
  3. Go to Settings > Domains. Select the domain you want to modify.
  4. If the domain is registered through Squarespace, locate the DNS Settings or Advanced Settings option.
  5. Switch from Squarespace Default to Custom Nameservers if that option is available.
  6. Enter the VergeCloud NS records:
    • indus.ns.vergedns.com
    • ellora.ns.vergedns.com
  7. Save your changes. Wait for the updates to propagate across the internet.

10. 1&1 (IONOS)

  1. Log in to your 1&1 (IONOS) account.
  2. Disable DNSSEC (if enabled). Under “Domain & SSL” or “DNS Settings,” turn off DNSSEC if available.
  3. In your dashboard, select the Domains & SSL or Domain section to see your registered domains.
  4. Choose the domain you want to edit, then click on Nameservers or DNS Settings.
  5. If necessary, switch from default to Custom Nameservers and enter:
    • indus.ns.vergedns.com
    • ellora.ns.vergedns.com
  6. Save your changes and wait for DNS propagation.

11. Launchpad

  1. Log in to your Launchpad (ResellerClub) account.
  2. Disable DNSSEC (if enabled). Go to the domain’s “DNS” or “Security” settings to turn it off.
  3. Navigate to the Domain section and choose the domain you want to manage.
  4. Locate the Nameserver or DNS settings. Select Custom Nameservers if required.
  5. Enter the VergeCloud Nameservers:
    • indus.ns.vergedns.com
    • ellora.ns.vergedns.com
  6. Click Save to confirm your changes and wait for propagation.

Final Steps and DNS Propagation

After updating your Nameservers—and ensuring DNSSEC is disabled—it may take up to 24–48 hours for the new settings to fully propagate worldwide. During this period, your domain may intermittently resolve to the old or the new Nameservers. You can use tools like dnschecker.org or the dig
command in your terminal to confirm when your domain is using the updated NS records.
